Took these 2 photos about an hour ago. I think that these sparrows were having a party in our garden and one came for some refreshments at the bird bath. :girlygiggle:

This little fella was hiding underneath my apple tree this morning while I was busy taking a few pictures. I think he was waiting for me to finish so he could then get a bite to eat. :girlygiggle: Sorry, if they're a bit blurry.

BethBoe - like the photos of the sparrows. You are lucky to see them. I never see any in our garden now, although they are over by the park.

They obviously enjoyed the party and it is nice to know that, at least one of them used the bird bath.

:thanx: for posting

Also, this little snippet about the Blue Tit is in my bird book which I thought I would share with you.

"Where is he, that giddy Sprite,
Bluecap, with his colours bright,
Who is blest as bird could be,
Feeding in the apple tree.

From 'The Kitten and Falling Leaves' by William Wordsworth.

(Apparently, and I never knew this before, but 'bluecap' was a popular name for the Blue Tit in the 19th century.)

These starlings were making such a din in my garden this afternoon. (There were even more out of camera shot.) Don't know what the pigeon thought of it all. :D But not long after these photos were taken, one magpie flew down and the whole lot scarpered!

Nice pics Di. I always like seeing the starlings with their bright multi coloured spots, whereas others regard them as a pest

You're right, Jan. They don't last long at all. But I keep a stockpile of them in a lidded container under Milo's hutch in the garage, along with the wildbird seed and nuts. It's like a birds' supermarket. :lol2:
