I'm afraid my photos aren't happy photos as I found this dear little bird, dead, down the bottom of the garden. It's a mystery as to how it died, it had just one puncture wound in its neck and it's eyes were still open, so I'm assuming it was quick, I hope so. I think it's a female Blackcap, but I'm not completely sure. It's now buried down the bottom of the garden under the Mountain Ash. ![]()

Oh, that's really sad, Marg. As you say, I hope its death was quick and that it didn't suffer.

Just been catching up on the Robbie trail Jean, he is lovely and you have some brilliant shots of him, I wonder if his friend was his brother or sister? he has put the word around for them to come to your garden I think. |

Forget Me Not - you are doing really well with the robins so far. I do hope it continues for you. I haven't seen a robin in the garden for ages. Marg- such a shame about the black cap, at least it can now rest in peace. for posting

I've been having young robins around me in the garden as well, but today was the first chance to take any photos. There are at least two youngsters but this one is quite tame and comes right up to me, in fact it almost took some suet pellets from my hand at one point, I'll have to be a bit patient and see if I can get him to feed out of my hand, that would be fantastic if I could.![]() ![]() ![]() I also just about managed to take a photo of an older robin that kept chasing the youngster away. Once or twice I had to duck because they kept flying right over me.
