Good afternoon from a warm sunny South Yorkshire.

The birds in my garden today are having a field day tucking in to food and drinks also a good few are having a wash and brush up in the bird bath.

I am spoilt for choice as to what images to try and get this is the latest of a Chaffinch picking around the borders.

Pete.

Ps. If i get any more good images i will post them. Posted Image

My kitchen sink does have a window above that looks into the garden and I do have bird feeders out there but I obviously don't spend enough time washing dishes! There's something special about having your own collection of garden birds isn't there?

Hi Ann

I could not agree more with you regarding this especially in today's world where every thing has to be done yesterday.

What i say is stop and set yourself a little bit of your time aside each day and you may well find out that you really enjoy the pass time you choose.

The birds in my garden are regular visitors and you can in some cases learn to recognise individuals over a period of time also it is a good way to relax .

Pete

I think I have a lot to learn from you Pete. Every morning I specifically watch out for the weather forecast on TV only to find I lose concentration after about 30 seconds and miss what the weather is going to be like. I need to force my brain to take some time out and relax.

Hi Ann .

The line of work i was in call centres sales and customer service the daily working environment is extremely fast paced with your co workers having not enough time for themselves let alone anybody else i did force myself to take at least two hours a day in my time and this did me the world of good and kept me ahead of the crowd and in good health.

I was on the garden today i could hear a bird
cry but couldnt see it so looked all over the garden
and found him/her on the floor his little legs were stuck
out. They looked like they were frozen.I rang loads of RSPB
emergency!!!out of hours to no avail.I eventually got someone.
They said it would be 8pm..This was 10.30 so they said i could
take it to my local vet which i did ,by the time i got there one little leg was
moving. They are going to ring me in the morning to let me know how he/she is.

Aww the poor thing doesn't look very good Jean I wonder if a cat has hold of it? Well done for rescuing it and :fingersx: it survives.

It could have well been a cat Julie, or it has flown into something very heavily and damaged it's legs that way.
