This Starling has been feeding in my backyard recently. Despite the abnormal beak it seems to be feeding quite well and appears to be in good condition.

It looks quite flimsy so I would like to think so, obviously as long as it doesn't harm it. Watching how it manages to turn it's head sideways to access the seed is amazing!

That is quite an abnormality Rob. I have seen a few birds in the past, Collared Dove, Chaffinch and Woodpigeon with similar, but not so extreme, bills and they all appeared to feed ok.

Great photo as well.
