always great to see a thrush in the garden, not had one in mine for awhile. pesky rooks been robbing the feeders past two days and not allowing anything else to feed. had 14 at one point today!

:scream: That's lot of rooks Mick, can you send at least one down to me - I need it for the Challenge ;) - I get the occasional Jackdaw on the feeders, had one earlier today but they don't hang around.

Lovely close shots Grayling especially the thrush. We have one that sings in birch & eucalypt trees approx. 50 feet away down the garden. Song thrushes not only look beautiful but their bell-like clear song is captivating - we always stop & listen. Jean & Graham

Thank you Jean and Graham. :thankyou:

I've not seen the Thrush for a day or two now and I wonder if it might be something to do with my new visitor who arrived about a week ago - a Redwing.

It has been devouring the pyracantha berries but because of the angle and the window glare I've not been able to get a decent photo; no point going outside as it flies away immediately.

Spotted something lurking in the cotoneaster this morning which is directly in front of my kitchen window and managed to get a few shots. The trouble is it is really getting through the berries so I doubt there will be any left for the Birdwatch next weekend and then he'll disappear :impatient: :girlygiggle:

Great photos Grayling :clap2: It is amazing how quick they can strip a bush of their berries.

It is strange how the gardens seem to be unusually quiet on birdwatch weekend.

Thank you Paula, Jan and Happyhare :thankyou:

Since posting those I've seen it in a different part of the garden eating a piece of apple so I've strategically placed some apple on the patio to entice him closer and hopefully it will hang around a bit longer too.

Lovely captures of the Redwing Grayling :clap3:

The same happened to us last year as well with two Goldcrest, Siskin and two Blackcap...never on the weekend of the garden birdwatch and always a day before or day after!

Thank you Dave :cool3:

It is odd that us regular bird feeders have the same experience regarding the Birdwatch. I wonder what the neighbours who don't normally feed them are putting out for them  :girlygiggle:

Smashing shots Grayling. Most of our berries are gone thanks to Redwings, they're real gluttons for them. Graham & Jean

:greatpic: Grayling. I suppose it will depend upon the berries. If he eats them all by the weekend.
