And finally - a Spoonbill; we've seen two at Lymington a year or so ago and was really surprised to see this one, no one had mentioned it was about, usually people are keen to let you know what is around.

Many thanks Paula :thankyou:

We could regularly see Dartford Warblers at a few Heaths nearer to me but a couple of terrible winters soon put paid to that. :( Not sure if they have made a come back; I've not seen any so was especially pleased to see the ones on Saturday.

Fantastic sightings & pics Grayling. The Kingfisher is exceptional & wonderful that actually got shots of Dartford Warbler - not an easy species to photograph. :fantastic: Graham & Jean

Little Egret at Farlington yesterday

and a Kestrel, we accidentally disturbed it, it was down in the bushes and flew off with something in its' talons

Posted Image

Posted Image

It alighted on a post but a bit too far off but you can just make out a feather in its' beak

Posted Image

Posted Image

You can make out its' prey a bit better in this one - looks like it had caught quite a big bird.

I was hoping the Egret would try to catch a fish but I got too cold standing around waiting :brr:
