And another "rogue" in my garden

Posted Image

I don't know who he belongs too but since my dog Jess died it has been visiting the garden on a daily basis lurking in the bamboo and ferns around the pond.

It's quite a pretty little cat and isn't very friendly which is probably just as well. Since it arrived my mouse population has gone down too :( I've not seen any evidence of it having caught a bird - I shoo it away as much as possible.

Thank you Feedy :thankyou: I can't normally get a shot of them either but I noticed this one was going around the tops of the walls and around the pots so I sprinkled some small seeds and crushed mealworms as an enticement

A real stealth hunter

We have trouble with the cat from next-door-but-one.............quite a formidable hunter  we had to resort to a water pistol.........she's much more wary now, she'll still venture in but when she hears the door handle she's off like a shot.
I have to be careful with her mate though he's a bit doddery and will fall off the fence so I have to go out and gently coax him off

That's a good idea I'll see if I can get my Wren a bit closer

Well done on managing to get the Wren shots Grayling, they flit about so quickly it isn't easy,a lovely selection of photos :clap2:

Pity about the visiting moggy, our cat Tommy is old and he has never bothered the birds, they must know he isn't a threat as they get up very close to him in the garden.

Jan, I do miss Jess - she wouldn't stand for having a cat in the garden  :giggle:

More Great Photo's Grayling. Nice to see the Wren is visiting regularly, ours only comes now and again. You can have some of our Starlings ifyou like we get 30-40 at atime they can clear a table in no time at all.

Thank you very much Veronica, Andy and Tabatha for you replies. :thankyou: I don't get a great number of birds in my garden but on a good day just the usual range. It was particularly lovely to see the Wren - I often glimpse it but don't normally get the chance to get a half decent shot of it.

Have you got large garden Andy? We get on the most 8 maybe 10 Starlings at the very best - the Wood Pigeons are the worst for clearing the ground feeder.

Some great captures Grayling and especially of the Wren :clap3:

We also have a cat problem and over the years have seen numerous ones in our garden.

I've just had a very enjoyable catchup from the beginning Grayling, brilliant photos. :clap3:

Lovely to see that you've had a Jay visiting too. I put out peanuts on the ground for the one that comes here, as they love to take nuts off to stash....so many of my neighbours are going to find lots of peanuts in their gardens, if he/she forgets where he/she's put them all. :lol2:

Brilliant photos of the Fieldfare. :cool2: I'm amazed that you've still got any berries left in your garden, mine went a long time ago. You could also try putting halved apples down, as they love those. That's what I've been doing, and I've had two that seem to have taken up residence. The trouble with that though is the fact they keep chasing any other Blackbirds away.
