I had to stay in today so took the opportunity to watch out for the birds in my garden.

Yesterday I spotted two male Blackcaps so was hoping to see them again today but instead I had this lovely female Blackcap visiting regularly - she was feeding on the suet pellets.

I did finally spot one male Blackcap later in the afternoon but he was quite shy.

I have three Robins visiting the garden at the moment - two are male and one of them sees the other off.

There are a few Blackbirds visiting - this one is a bit of a bully and sees off the Thrush whenever it tries to feed.

Mrs Blackbird - she's just as bad.

and here's the lovely Thrush

Beautiful photos Grayling. What a treat to get such a great variety of the more unusual birds. e.g. Blackcaps :cool2:

We get loads of House Sparrows visiting our garden and Starlings too. In fact, the Starlings have a favourite roosting and congregating point in the tree right above where I park my car, and they are forever pooping on it.

So, I'll swap you some of my Starlings for your Blackcaps, which I never see in our garden ;)

Many thanks Dave and Laurie. :thankyou:

Laurie, we are never happy are we :giggle:

I always got annoyed with the big group of starlings scoffing all the food but now it is a treat to see the few that do occasionally visit and I don't know what has happened to the House Sparrows, I miss their tweets in the bushes.

Popped down to Blashford yesterday.

A bit foggy and the birds on the water were a long way off but luckily saw these Bramblings from the woodland hide - the photos are taken through dirty unopenable glass so are not of the best.
