first osprey returned to local loch at 10am this morning. i awoke after 4 hours sleep and saw the text on my phone, well i wasnt going to get back to sleep now so headed up even though it was a dull day.
found him at the nesting site, he (i am assuming male, he has a green ring on so all will become clear soon) never budged until a rook mobbed him and he flew off doing a wee circle then landed in a clearer spot. he took his lunch with him :)

More fabulous photos Mick. It may have been misty, but that type of light I have found show the most detail in the colours and feathers
