How did you manage to get the jay :jealous:
I occasionally see them, but they are very difficult to get a photo of. The coot chicks are gorgeous.

visited another nest today which had 4 chicks in it, all looked well and were big enough for ringing and wing tagging.
i put the rings on three of them :happy2:

thanks folks, the jay was great to see at the feeders, its a daily visitor now ive heard.
heres a pair of tree sparrow from todays ringing and some garden birds from yesterday.

hahaha tabatha. turns out there are 30 nest sites but not all used. they reckon about 12 females nesting but some males are polygamous looking after 2 or even 3 nests.
