oh there sharp dave, the one i took out nest had a solid grip on one of my fingers and a bit more of a squeeze and it would have drawn blood no probs.
heres a pic of me doing my first ever ring. what a bird to do it on :)

aye dave, the first thing i was told was to watch for the talons not the beak and to make sure i keep a hold of both legs at all times, especially while its in my lap, apparently one guy never followed that advice and ended up with very sore gonads lol!
aye julie im like a cheshire cat the whole time im there :)

Lol Mick, we're glad you are still complete. Truly amazing shots & thank you for taking us along - we've never seen birds of prey ringed, only little birds on telly. Expect it's easier to handle bigger birds, more to grab hold of. Jean & Graham

Yeah j&g the harrier was a lot easier, but being my first ever ring was a daunting experience.
The rings used on the smaller birds are a lot easier to squeeze though so swings and roundabouts i guess.
