I wonder if the previous owners fed the birds or whether they're visiting for the first time . How wonderful to have the Loch within walking distance :cool3:

Very sad news John but the only merest bit of consolation, if any at all, is that at least it was natures way and a tussle between rival birds, rather than some ******* poisoning or shooting it.

It was great to see Mick's spectacular photos again and they really show just how magnificent this bird is.

A very sad story though nonetheless.

i read about that John, such a shame but at least he enjoyed a short lived life doing what they do, as dave said better that than dying needlessly as a victim of poisoning.
cant wait to get over there again this summer.

its been awhile, heres a few updates, nowt much exciting but am chuffed to be getting long tailed tits at my feeders now, most days they turn up just when the light is going so no chance of photos usually.

it seems most people go to FB these days , Mick ... but it's super to see your photos here again .
