hi Jan :wave2: ....I've seen Sparrows , Jackdaws ,Starling , Rook and obviously Magpie fledglings this year but the Blackbirds are the first for years . I would regularly hear the "chupping" away and see them in the undergrowth but since the rise in Magpie numbers ,they've been missing :think: I also noticed a Robin's nest in my neighbour's hedge only to then see a magpie heading straight for it . I know how clever and successful these birds are so it was nice to see a young Robin too :nod:
I think Magpies are beautiful birds and are great for warning you about a predator like a Fox or Sparrowhawk nearby but give the others a chance now and again ;)

I was sitting in my sister's garden yesterday when I heard that call that I'd been missing all these years and lo and behold ...two young Blackbirds :nod: Posted ImagePosted Image
this is great news as last year the nest in her garden was "emptied "of it's four chicks by one of the many cats that frequent the place :angry:
