Thank you all for your kind comments. I hadn't realised that I'd got all four chicks head down until I saw the photo on the computer. With mum in the corner too, it might become the photo that I put in to the village show this year where a caption is needed!

Indeed Abbotsbury is wonderful and I'm fortunate that it is only about a 40 minute drive. It pays to get there when they open, especially now the cygnets are around, as it soon gets very busy by mid morning and it rather takes the pleasure out of pure birding. I only wish that it was open all year round, but it closes to the public early November and reopens in March.
