A very tame and obliging juvenile Red Backed Shrike taken at Tidemills near Newhaven -Sussex,never seen such an unafraid bird,stood two feet from it and it wasn't bothered !

at one point it lived up to it's nickname "butcher bird" by impaling a Devil Coachman Beetle on a thorn ( it ate it later )

They're super photos Andy , and i think the RSPB could do well to have a good look at what the bird really looks like . Their site , images and info could do with a good overhall , an update

Haven't had anything worth posting for a while but I was pleased to get this Serin at Tidemills -East Sussex ( very interesting place ) the Serin is a first for me !
