At last, the early bird catches the magnificent bird I've been after for years. I've been told where to look, others had seen it but much as I went to look, nothing. This morning it was misty and drizzle and I thought my bed was very nice and warm.
No I thought get out of it and go, so I did. Walked for ages and then big bingo and it was flying round and round the field and then landed on a post almost too close for the camera and stared right at me, so I took loads of photo and then scarpered very quckly as I and the Owl was a bit spooked at being a bit too close for comfort.
As I walked back I looked back briefly and I thought did that really happed, yes it did. Further along I stopped and looked at the photos and I smiled to myself big time. :yay:

I agree Sunset and there is no finer sight than watching a Barn owl hunting over fields to the back drop of a mid summer sunset.

I believe the Barn Owl is still in the area but I have my photos and my excuse for not getting up in the cold and dark is I'm going to leave him in peace.
In the meantime I across a small field in a village named Sarn, ( Lleyn Peninsula) the field was mostly well turned over by horses. Nothing first seemed to be there but watching closly there were Redwings and Song Thrushes in good numbers.
One Redwing was really very aggressive towards another Redwing, I've never seen such behaviour. I tired to get some photos of the aggresive bird, the thing was the other birds seem to ignore it.
