A good birding afternoon at the Glaslyn Marshes at Porthmadog ( Gwynedd), its just nearby where the Ospreys have their nest.
The weather was cloudy and dull, rather threatening dark blue clouds but we carried on and sure enough hailstones decended on us and we duly got soaked, I donated my hat to my camera. I was pleased with the photos and the ducks and waders always give us a nice surprise.
Two females and one drake Goldeneye, Lapwings and Curlews, a single female Goosander, a juvenile Cormorant on some rocks, Wigeon, a pair of Mute Swans, about 8 Little Grebes and Black headed Gulls.
One photo I rather like its the Mallards flying low over the water, I think because its not quite in focus.

We enjoyed ourselves so much on Saturday we went back to Porthmadog again to-day and someone pointed out a pair of Barnacle Geese amongst the huge flock of Canada Geese, very pleased about and no hailstones to-day.
