Tomorrow I'm going on a turkey and tinsel holiday to the Lake District, Bowness, I think its going to be a very cold holiday. Challenge list, camera at the ready and oh yes my suitcase.
The couple who are home and dog sitting are bring their cameras with the hope of a Waxwing. I don't think I will be able to post anything for a whole week, there is no room for my laptop.

Hope you have a lovely week Alice.

Interesting to see that one of the Chough had no rings...might be worth mentioning that to the local ornithology group and also worth mentioning the ring colour on the other bird.

During the summer I bought a lovely bird bath and would any of the garden birds take a bath for the summer challenge, not one. To-day this little Robin had a bath that lasted about 10mins, little tinker. Fortunatly the Bullfinch has a second chance, the Chough showed the rings off very nicely to-day and was able to read S6 which I have sent the same photo to the local recorder.

A small but beautiful flock of Siskins flew in to-day and tucked into the Niger seed and Sunflower hearts. They were in beautiful condition. They were feeding on top of a whellie bin, I just cover any flat surface with seed and it worked.

A little Robin was so friendly he was almost too close for the camera and a Song Thrush was too busy looking about to notice me.
