It looks a bit guilty in your photos, Dave. Funnily enough I've seen a bit of that going on today. Starlings hanging over a gutter trying to peer into a house martin's nest while in turn, a Magpie was trying to get into the starling's nest.

The poor coots nest's are very vunerable to all sorts of predators as are so many other species .
