Holkham is famous for it's skeins of wintering geese and none more so than the thousand upon thousand of Pink-footed geese.

You couldn't help but marvel at the spectacle of sheer numbers crossing the dusk laden skies,let alone the cacophonous 'wink,wink' call that seemed to drown out all other species.

Our late afternoon and early evening walks from Wells to the pinewoods provided us a spectacle never to be forgotten.

We had some geese fly over the Humber yesterday but didn't have me camera with me as was only doing deliveries.lol

Thanks to an encounter with a couple at St Tiggy's, I actually manage to recognise the odd Herring Gull now - ummm, as long as it's a juvenile, that is :giggle:
