Probably the single most spectacular sight during our Norfolk trip was this mass of Knot. Looking out from the Holme marsh hide one morning i suddenly noticed a glint of white in the sky which suddenly turned to black and thne back to white again....it was such a distance away that i couldn't quite make out what was causing this spectacular image. Through binoculars you could make out that they were a mass of Knot,a small wading bird that is very common along these shores at this time of year.

A few very quick clicks of the camera shutter and then they were gone, the whole event lasting less than a minute.

Here are the best of those photos.....

It was estimated,by the wardens and bird watchers on Holme that morning, that at least 25,000 birds were in the air during that display. I wish i had been closer!

:wow: Dave .. great photos of a truly spectacular display.

That is one experience I really would love to have, being beneath the display and having them .. wwhhooooosh above my head and have the sound experience too .. at least you were close enough to still see the aerial display tho Dave and even more so to get some great photos too :cool1:

It was a pity that the display only lasted for a minute as i would have loved to grab some footage.
