It was bitterly cold and made worse by the very cold wind! It was a shame that the light conditions were poor and if it had been sunny the photos would have been much better.

I've just had one of my catch ups Dave, fantastic photos. :clap3:

I would love to see a Brambling, but there again there are a lot of birds that you saw on your holiday that I would love to see. :jealous: :grin:

I love that photo in post 645 - 4th photo- of the Dunlin and Curlew Sandpiper. :cool1:

Many thanks everyone.

They can be very tricky Paula and you really rely on the 'jiss' of the bird (it's shape, flight pattern, bill size etc etc) but even then it can still stump you. To try and tell a winter plumaged Dunlin from Little Stint at a great distance is a serious challenge for any birder.
