Saw this Short Eared Owl today whilst driving along. Just managed to get the camera out of the car window (I did pull over first!) and grab this as it flew by. Not perfect but I was glad it came out as well as it did under the circumstances. And no glue required!!!

Very nice Marg. The arrangement of the Canada Geese is lovely and you have managed the exposure very well which isn't always easy against a bright sky.

It is quite different Marg but you will surely see the benefits of the step up to a DSLR. I know bridge cameras are improving all the time and they are great for convenience and versatility (i've toyed with the idea of getting one for when it isn't possible to lug my backpack around) but a DSLR does give you that little bit extra, (at the risk of upsetting everyone who loves their bridge camera).

I do love my bridge camera but that's because I only had a little point and shoot before so it seems superb after that, not that the point and shoot was rubbish if you see what I mean! One day I'll get a DSLR :cool3: I did have a play with Marg's camera, scared me to death

I still have my bridge camera Tim, and take it out with me as well because I use it for taking footage and for wide angle shots. I've only got one lens a Tamron 70-300mm, and that's no good for scenic shots. I would love another lens, but can't afford one at the moment...but in time. I would never go back to using a bridge camera, good as it was. You can't compare the shutter speeds, the DSLR is sooooooo fast, and I love the fact that when you do crop down, it's as sharp as when you took it, whereas with the bridge camera the photo ended up grainy. I used to get so disappointed when I got home thinking I'd taken a good shot, only to crop it down and get a grainy photo.

Got to admit that does get to me! Ah well...one day I'll get that DSLR! At least I've got a better zoom on the bridge than I did have and you can make out what the thing is I'm trying to photograph now and not just a blurred blob :girlygiggle:

I'm just glad I didn't drop your camera marg! :outtahere:
