Very well photographed Andy....anything captured of a Short-toed Eagle in this country constitutes a great record.

Often the case Andy, especially when it is classed as a mega, and people can turn up in their hundreds, if not more sometimes.

After a lot of crawling through gorse/bracken/brambles and trying to avoid getting bitten by a snake I managed to get a few better pics of the elusive snake eating Eagle !

:wow: .......... :thud: what a magnificent bird , Andy ... super photos

When i googled short toed and snake eating the articles state there are hundreds turning up to see one short toed in Dorset .. the Police are having to control the crowds : ) ........ but a shame for the bird as you say .

Did you mean that you'd seen a Snake eating Eagle ? or the Short eared which might eat snakes ?

Now a snake eating an Eagle would be a pic :yum:

The Short Toed 's primary diet consists of snakes, lizards and Slow-worms ,of which there are plenty in Ashdown Forest,we saw it take a few Adders and one Grass-Snake that looked to be about 3 ft long but was probably about 2ft 6 inches !
