i got this email from Greenpeace the other day......maybe you'd like to sign up
Hi John,

The rainforest is running out of time. Beautiful orangutans, sun bears and gibbons who live in Indonesia’s forests are threatened by a destructive paper company. And it’s bank-rolled by high street giant Santander.

Please sign the petition demanding Santander stop lending money for rainforest destruction: https://secure.greenpeace.org.uk/santander5

Thanks,
Richard
thought i'd bump this up again to see if anyone else would like to sign...here's a link for the SWT blog that also contains a link about saving the mountain hare ....i'm sure they've become everyone's favourite after those brilliant photos from Mick

another depressing report ......£1000 is good but to get the truth , follow the real money ! these guys are not acting out of hatred for these birds ...they're getting paid to do this by the estate owners ...it's obvious

That's the problem John, patsies getting the dirty work done for those 'unmentionables' that don't want to get their hands dirty. The whole thing is utterly despicable.

That is shocking , Julie ... totally absurd to suggest that because some children have little access to wild life .. the words have to be dropped from the OJD

I'd boycott the dictionary and encourage others to do the same

Perhaps the authors who have protested could publish one of their own :cool2: they have enough clout

How sad that the powers that be think that children don't need to know about those words, they are much more useful than some words used :read:

It's beyond belief really and it should be the other way around with such words as 'celebrity' 'chatroom' and 'MP3 player' being omitted...those are the words that are completely useless. Who gives a monkey about the word 'celebrity' anyway!!!???

Thanks for posting that Julie.

I thought we knew that , Dave . We've always known that the light attracts moths and that bats eat the moths .. but it never meant that bats like the lights

I wonder how much that research cost :yep: Mind you ...... every theory has to be research based i suppose , which isn't a bad thing

:thanks: for the link , it's an interesting article

I also think Jen that certain types of light are much worse than others.
