:lol2: John .... deep fried mars bars are next on the menu :teehee:

Seriously though , Scotland can pride themselves on protecting the Pine Martin ..... "Because they've had greater protection in Scotland from about 1988 through the Wildlife and Countryside Act they've actually expanded the range.

But , don't think it's a good thing for the staff at Cruachan feeding them the cafe left overs  :nope:

It's shocking news , Dave .... the whole thing stinks . I don't trust the game keepers but why did the RSPB take so long to announce the missing eight ... why had they not reported it to the Police . I can't understand why no one , or very few are ever punished for these acts .

Do the red - kites go anywhere at this time ? only i haven't seen them for a few months now :( nor any buzzards :( and i know a goshawk was poisoned in the area

It's a sickening act indeed.

Let's hope the perpetrators are found quickly and severely dealt with.

Absolutely despicable Dave! Everyone pointing fingers at everyone else... just hope someone finds the true culprits... the sooner the better!

very sad news indeed and when you think that the SWT retrieved a tag from one of their Ospreys all the way in Africa ,the lack of any Eagle tags found here ,as Jen says , is damning evidence of foul play  .....
a few more prosecutions would really be "Glorious" :yep:

Prosecutions are few and far between, and the ones that are successful tend to be a token gesture by the courts.

The Red kites will still be about somewhere Jen, maybe less active possibly.

I began to be concerned because i'd not seen them lately Dave

I heard on the news this morning that the days shooting could have been called off due to all the rain . But up here we've had it pretty good for almost all of the day .. the sun has shone and it's been very warm

There is no doubt Jen that Red Kites are still persecuted and i do hope that nothing like that is going on in your area.

When do Red Kites moult? That might be one reason for not seeing them so much.
