:( i'm still not seeing any red kites but hopefully they're ok and just moulting ? Thanks Dave and Ann :thanks:

Dreadful news re more badger culls even though a group of scientists ( some behind the £50m trial) showed it was not effective in reducing the bTB . Much of the problem is husbandry . there are so many cattle grazing and in barns close together .

I don't think the problem is anywhere near as great in Scotland .. the farming is not as intensive

It makes you wonder how far the cull will spread before they realise that it isn't effective!

Sadly Dave, it's us humans who are gradually destroying our own planet

:yep: John

So many people just don't care...sadly I have a neighbour who likes to go shooting at the weekend and and has blocked off all Hoggy entrances :notfair:

Sometimes you feel like you're banging your head against a brick wall...I think the way forward to educating children, they're so keen to learn about all things wild....I just hope it won't be too late

When gardens are razed and paved, house sparrows suffer.

This is what I can't understand about people who live in an urban environment.

You would think they would crave as much greenery as they can get to relieve all that brick and tarmac around them.

Yet they destroy their gardens by digging up trees, bushes and plants so they can have a nice hard surface for parking their cars and big patio areas for entertaining - it's beyond my comprehension

Likewise Laurie, i have never understood why people would prefer a concrete environment, about as sterile as you could possibly get.

Just had a catch up with some of these articles ...

 great news that Microbeads are going to be banned, it's about time!

The pond article was interesting it would be nice to have room for a 6ft x 6ft pond!
