The Goldfinch trapping article is disgusting! This is the type of thing that you would associate more with countries such as Malta and in some areas of Greece...not they type of thing you want to see happening here and anyone caught has to be punished appropriately.

The expected bumper crop of autumnal berries will be hugely beneficial to many species and if parts of northern Europe have extreme weather conditions, it should prove to be another great year for Waxwings and other winter thrush species.
