The article about the Common Cranes breeding in Scotland is one of the true successes this year, or any year for that matter. Just to think, it was only a few years ago that a tiny population in Norfolk were the only ones you could see in the UK.

The report regarding control of Otters to protect fish stocks is just typical of the mentality that the lobbyists have in this country...it wasn't five minutes ago that everyone was celebrating the fact that Otters had been seen in every county!!! ridiculous suggestion!

The trapping , shooting and nest destruction of the raptors on the other hand is shocking .

I agree Dave re the Otters ... culling ! ! .... heavens , give them a chance poor things , we've only just helped them back from the brink : (
