Those Otters were very lucky indeed Danny. Hopefully, after the care under the SPCA, they will be released back into the wild at some point.

thanks Danny for what is mostly grim reading .............. that's the site i mentioned re the cirl buntings .. i did think the local health authority owned the land . I hope the RSPB can get to the bottom of it and find that it was a tragic accident ... otherwise .

So , caring is what the NHS is all about Posted Image

It doesn't look good on the NHS but i doubt very much that they are the least bit bothered, they should be however as it is a shocking indictment of a trusted (no pun intended) national cornerstone.

Fantastic news that Lodge Hill has been designated a SSSI site, hopefully this along with the ongoing conservation programme, will see Nightingales increase in this area. Thanks for that link Danny.

What are your comments on this tragedy. Such beautiful animals. They could have used dart tranquilizers surely!

Yeah it sounds like this wasn't dealt with properly.

I'm sure it could, and should, have been dealt with better and it would not have taken long to organise a few tranquilliser darts, thus ensuring the safety of both the general public and the welfare of the animals....a no brainer in my opinion. Thanks for the link Helen.

I think any monies that can be released to help reducing then impact of wildlife crime, whether it is abroad or in the UK, has to be applauded. Thanks for the link Danny.

The report on zoo's doesn't really surprise me Danny and whilst many undertake very important roles in conservation, they need to look at the basics of animal welfare as a priority.

Great news about the Marine Conservation Zones. Hopefully this will protect endangered marine life around the UK coastline.
