Hi Marg , yours looks a bit like one of the stages of a candlesnuff the pictures and the fungi i've seen all have that dark base .. but it certainly looks odd

That's a very odd one indeed Marg, i have no idea at the moment. Agreed on both of those Grayling. If it was growing on oak Grayling then that should clinch it. |

I have possible identifications for these; but my confidence isn't high. Gymnopilus penetrans. 60 mm, 20 mm high, stem 10 mm but wider at base, creamy white spores. ![]() ![]()

hi dave i have the pictures of fungi which we found under the bench on the floor in burton mere wetlands. i have the top and took one of them out to try capture what is like inside. these were about the size of your fingers maybe little tiny!! ![]() ![]() thanks dave |

No problem regarding the stem base and i can see enough mottling on the gills to id it as Panaeolus fimicola. Both of yours are great to add. Hi Claire. Yours is a Coprinus type but without a spore print i don't think i will be able to id it fully for you. |

I was thinking about Coprinus domesticus for this one; but possibly not fully identifiable.![]() ![]() Egg shaped cap 30 mm high and dark brown spores. Fairly short stem. |
