:thanks:Thank you very much Dave ... i have a Hen of the woods 3 ) looked strange , it was in the same forest as the others in this batch ... a mixed wood . I didn't touch it but i wondered whether it was a jelly type , it certainly appeared to be of that texture I see that the Witches butter goes through a few stages .. as do others of course

Hi Jen. Could be a jelly-type fungus but it could also be a slime mould....i'll keep looking. Onto your latest batch: 6. Ganoderma applanatum (can go on the fungi challenge) 7. Early stages of a bracket fungi but would need to see it more developed for an id. 8. Could be a Coprinellus/Coprinopsis type or even something like Collybia cookei. Would need shots of the gills and what substrate they were growing on. Hi Paula. 1. Can't tell for sure, might need shots of the topside. 2. Trametes pubescens (can go on the fungi challenge) 3. Was it growing on wood or soil Paula? 4. Daedalea quercina 5. Would need shots of the gills unfortunately but it does have a pinkish cap and white stem, what sort height was it Paula? 6. Looking at the large and oval to elongated pores/tubes, i would say this was Trametes suaveolens which is a really good find. It can also go on the fungi challenge Paula. |

I've a few for ID help, but I'll split them over a couple of posts. Firstly, growing on what I think was fallen Beech were fungi that don't look quite right for either Porcelain or Oyster types. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() They seem to be all the same type of fungus, just at different stages. |

Last for now, a tiny Bonnet growing on Beechmast, there were quite a few around, but tricky to photograph as it was very dull under the canopy and they were really small.![]() ![]() |
