I think this might "kill two birds with one stone".

Saw this at Hall Place today and it looks very similar to Shaz's, so I would also be interested to know what it is. I am sure I have seen a picture of it before somewhere. Death Cap or stink horn maybe. In the last one you can see all this black stuff inside too. They were in the middle of a patch of grass.

I also saw this one:

This was growing under the apple trees. I don't know if that has any bearing on the species.

Shaz,
Your post #219 is a Shaggy Ink Cap

Tabatha:
Shaggy Ink Cap
Lactarius sp. (possibly)

LG: post #221
1 A bit young for positive ID but from the very thicjk stem and swollen base it could be one of the Boletes
2 Lepiota sp. Probably Parasol or Shaggy Parasol. (need to see the stem and to have the size of the cap to be certain which species this one is)

FMN:
Your first two are the same species but I am not sure which at the moment.
The second is a Common Earthball.

I agree with the Lactarius Judy and it does have elements of Lactarius Deliciosus about it but would need more evidence.

Is this some sort of puffball?

Difficult to tell Bill but I would say from the scales on the cap it is an agaric (cap and stem fungus) that is just emerging. Keep an eye on them if you can, and see how they develop.
