Paul, When you have a lot of brackets like that stacked up on top of each other it is difficult to see the upper surface of them and it is best to get a view of the topmost one in the tier. The white new growth between the two brackets in that photo obscures the upper surface of the lower one. |

I think this one is a Chanterelle (Cantharellus cibarius) rather than the similar False Chanterelle (Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca). Am I correct, please? Edit: The actual colour of the plant was yellower than my picture might lead you to believe.

I'm having a blank moment - Tan cap, suede skin. 12cm diam. Pores yellow, blueing on bruising. some reddening on stem but mostly removed by slug damage I think. ![]() ![]() |
