Post 923, photo 2 Mick could be Cordyceps militaris which is a very interesting fungi indeed.

Thanks for those identifications Dave that Caterpillar fungi seems to be a gruesome little thing living off moth pupae or other insects. I have found a few more fungi for identification please.

Is this one yellow stags horn fungi.

The next 2 are the same fungi just on different bits of the piece of wood.

Is this next one possibly the parrot waxcap.

Posted Image

Have I got the green woodcup with this?

Posted Image

This one seems to have another bit of fungus growing out of the top, as it was tight to the stem and no others about I couldn't get a shot of the underneath.

These were such a beautiful colour.

Hi Hazel.

Agreed on the Yellow Stagshorn

The next two are both Hairy Stereum.

Photo 5 is a type of lichen

Photo 7 is probably Mycena pura.

Photo 4 is one i do recognise but is not Parrot waxcap unfortunately.

I think photos 1 and 2 of yours Paula are advanced stages of Xerula radicata and could go on the fungi challenge :cool2:

In fact....if anyone has any fungi not already listed on the challenge, and have a positive id for them, then please add them to the fungi screening thread...thanks.

Hi Grayling

I would agree with all of your id's :cool2:

The second photo of the Blackening Waxcap would be fine to use for your challenge.

I shouldn't have thought so Dave but I'll check - all of those were from over the last couple of weeks and I've only just got round to sorting them.

This might be Common Jellyspot?

On a rotten birch trunk - sorry the picture isn't very good.
