I saw this on a rotton stump at Martin Mere and wonder if it is Fairy Inkcap Coprinellus disseminatus?

This was also at Martin Mere but I couldn't get close to it - I suspect it is something that has gone by its' best before date :paul:

Hi Mick.

I'm pretty sure your trooping funnel is Clitocybe gibba.

I think photos 1 and 2 of yours Paula are advanced stages of Xerula radicata and could go on the fungi challenge :cool2:

In fact....if anyone has any fungi not already listed on the challenge, and have a positive id for them, then please add them to the fungi screening thread...thanks.
Many thanks Dave

Got a couple more from Scotland in amongst the pine

Not too sure Happyhare. Can you remember how large the cap was on each specimen and were they all in approx the same area?

Some interesting fungi there Paula and great to have you back with us...hope you enjoyed Scotland.

The first two look like a Chanterelle type.

I'll have to check on the others Paula.

Thanks Happyhare....i'll carry on looking.

That really unusual one i will confirm, from your fungi thread, is indeed a Clouded agaric - Clitocybe nebularis. It can also go on the fungi screening thread :cool2:

Never seen one quite like that before!

:thanks: Dave.

I know it's one of those silly ones.... I'm sure I've seen it before loads of times - and I did know what it was... but the names just not coming up!
And to make things even more confusing - I expect they've changed it's name last week  ! :hehe:
