Hi Tabatha. Your number 4 looks like slightly decaying Velvet Shank. |

Hi Dave. My post 998 you said you thought photo 4 could be snowy waxcap but you needed to look at it again. Just wondering if you have managed to look at it again knowing that you have had so many to identify. Thanks for your help. Hazel |

Ok Tabatha. Your last one to id, photo 3, is the very early stages of Calvatia gigantea (Giant Puffball) it can grow to the size of a very large pumpkin. This can also go straight on the fungi photography challenge. |

Thanks Dave. I've got 4 books, two very good ones, but I just can't see it in any of them. I'm starting to go a bit

Many thanks Hugh. I would go with Clitocybe geotropha (Trooping Funnel). |

Thanks again. Was nearly there - had it as Clitocybe but couldn't decide on species. Same trip had some nice fly Argaric and Turkeytail. |

A pleasure to be of help Hugh. My other thought at the time was Clitocybe gibba, but there are a few subtle differences that swayed me towards geotropha. |

Dave, I was wondering if this might be a Blood Red Webcap Cortinarius sanduineus? It was a stunning colour - in mixed deciduous woodland, mainly beech some oak and some hazel. |

Same wood - beech, oak, hazel - I found a really large patch of this fungi, didn't see any more at all on our walk around. All a pale buttermilk yellow - I don't think it is Ramaria flava which is associated with beech and oaks mainly because it is quite "loose" , i'e not thick clumps. So I'm wondering if it is Meadow Coral which my book tells me is sometimes found in deciduous woodland
