Thanks for the id's Dave. I get to walk round Shakerley as we go to Massey's mill at Cranage for our hen food. I was lucky enough to get a photo of a white fronted goose there on Monday as well as seeing all the fungi.

Ahh, yes...i used to go to Cranage as well many years ago.

Hi Jen.

It looks like one of the White waxcaps, possibly either Hygrocybe virginea or the other one who's name escapes me at the moment.

Some more fungi I spotted whilst having a walk in an area called Stanney Woods. It is maintained by our local council and is mostly mixed deciduous trees with some boggy areas and some small ponds dotted about which are very green or brackish looking.

No. 1 - quite a few patches of this just sitting on top of some fallen leaves.

No. 2 - is this coral spot when I found it I thought it was but looking at the photo I am not sure.

No. 5

No. 6 I thought this was a really lovely colour and the photo as is often the case doesn't really show it at it's best.

Is this a white waxcap of somekind? I saw it yesterday at Blashford in mossy grass but I can't for the life of me remember where and what trees were around.

Well done Jen...some good fungi finds.

Hi Grayling,

I recognise the first one but can't quite place it at the moment.

I agree on the second one being Clitocybe geotropha.
