Hi Eddie. Number 1 looks like a Botryobasidiaceae type but won't be able to narrow it down without microscopic examination. They are a very interesting genus of wood and litter-rotting saprotrophs (a process of chemoheterotrophic extracellular digestion involved in the processing of dead or decayed organic matter) and extremely important in the regeneration and the breaking down of leaf and organic matter, pretty much in the same vein as an earthworm does. The 2nd one on moss, looks like a Stereum type. |

Hi Jen. You have found a really good fungi there. It's scientific name is Bulgaria inquinans but it can be more commonly known as Black Bulgar, Bachelor's Buttons or Rubber Buttons. Great photos Jan and it can also go on the fungi photography challenge

I saw the little sightings notebook at Rosemoor the other day and i really ought to be writing them down . thank you Dave ..... i walked right up into the mixed woodland at RM and saw those and some other types . I've been trying to find them but some i don't find easy to ID all of them .. i must sort them out and pop them on here It's amazing that i've only found 5 from the list

Hi Eddie. Your last one could be either Stereum rugosum or Stereum gausapatum. Tricky to tell from a photo alone but my initial feeling is the latter of the two. |
