Thanks for that identity Dave. I have a couple of others I have seen on my travels. No. 1 - Couldn't get closer to the tree for a better shot. ![]() No. 2 - These were growing through the moss on the top of a rotting gate. ![]() No. 3 - Are these trooping funnel fungi please. ![]() No. 4 - These were growing at the base of a beech tree. ![]() ![]() No. 5 - These were also growing at the base of a different beech tree. ![]() ![]() No. 6 ![]() ![]() |

These fungi have popped up near work - there are lots under a conifer - I'm thinking its spruce tree...![]() conifer with fungi underneath by Tatterling, on Flickr Here is a )![]() new fungi by Tatterling, on Flickr Here is an older version ![]() older fungi by Tatterling, on Flickr And a gill view of a decapitated one ![]() gills by Tatterling, on Flickr I am wondering about fruity brittlegill Russula queletii - but I didn't pick one up to see if it smells of gooseberries does that seem like a good call on the ID?Next one I think this is meadow coral Clavulinopsis corniculata ![]() meadow coral fungi by Tatterling, on Flickr ![]() AC clavulinopsis fungi by Tatterling, on Flickr It is in rough grass in the horse field (habitat shot with bonus bum shot of one of the horses she came over to investigate while I was looking at the waxcaps and clavulinopsis then wandered off in disgust when she discovered I hadn't found anything 'good' )![]() meadow coral in situ by Tatterling, on Flickr Third one I believe is rounded earthstar Geastrum saccatum growing under pine trees at Wisley ![]() AC earthstar fungi by Tatterling, on Flickr If they are what I thought they were - are any of these good for the fungi challenge? |
