Hi Grayling.

Sorry for the late reply but here are a few confirmations of some of your fungi on post 1457.

Agreed on Wrinkled Club Fungi (Clavulina rugosa) and on White Brain Fungus (Exidia thuretiana)

Also agreed on Common Inkcap.

I'll try and look at the others later on.

I've had a reply from Blashford acknowledging my query and double-checking the location of the fungi. Apparently there are elms still at Blashford. I'll let you know if they come back to me further :cool3:

:Woo: Grayling ........ lucky you and the wrinkled peach . I'm reading it became familiar during the 1970s when the elms were dying .. now they're not often found . Most elms here are hedge height though i have seen a few between Torrington and Bideford whilst walking the Tarka Trail . I must go back sometime

Ok Grayling :cool2:

It's well worth a look Jen and it is the most stunning fungi we have ever seen. We saw this group in Norfolk a few years ago.

I remember you posting that Dave and thought what a lovely looking fungi.

I'd assumed you had seen some this year but I've just checked the fungi challenge list and it dosn't appear to be on it - shall I add mine to the screening thread?

Yes, please do Grayling :cool2:

It is surprising how much they stand out Jen as most very brightly coloured fungi can blend into their surroundings very well but these really do stand out like a beacon.

Post 1457 Grayling.

The puffballs could we be the very early stages of Lycoperdon pyriforme and they start to turn brown with age.
