With the colour of the leaves on trees starting to unfold, autumnal berries in the hedgerows, the sound of geese arriving and the woodland floors littered with an array of fungi in dazzling shapes and shades, i thought it would be an idea for members to share their autumnal experiences and tell us what you like best about autumn.

Fungi and Autumn Colours do it for me :) I also like the mellow light at this time of year although I do get a bit melancholy as I suffer from that SAD thing a bit :rolleys:

Fungi does it for me as well Jane but i also love the sound of Pink-footed Geese coming into roost over the north Norfolk coastal marshes. The colour of beech tree leaves are also something spectacular, especially when they carpet a woodland floor.

The leaves gradually turning brown and falling. Walking through all the acorns that have dropped off the trees. Misty mornings. It's sad to see everything slowly dying off, the path in the woods becomes wider again, and eventually there is less cover under the trees.
