I went over on saturday to Otmoor as I'd heard the murmurations will still going on (they're usually all over by December/early Jan).

Saturday was a bit of a disappointment. They just arrived in medium sized flocks and shot straight down in to the reeds, but I took a chance and went back again tonight.
Success!

You can just about see in these two that when they find the spot they like they shoot down straight in to the reeds

It's amazing how so may thousands of birds can just drop from the sky and disappear in the reeds in a matter of seconds.
