Quite amazing isn't it! I have seen some large Ermine-type moth webs and also, Brown-tail Moth can create similar webs but this one is extraordinary. |

hi Laurie , I went through tonight and had a look . it is a really bizarre sight . the store has cordoned the hedge off to protect the caterpillars but you can get within a few feet . here's some pics ... sorry I don't have any more info about it , like how long it took to build or how long it'll last ....

It's the larvae of an Yponomeuta sp (micro moth) one of a number that it could be including Apple Ermine or Cherry Ermine moth. |
