Very few visitors today so far, it must be too hot they are all hiding.

Lovely photos, Eric. I used to get Collared Doves in the garden but they don't visit very often these days.

Thanks everyone. I have just topped up the feeders and replenished the fat balls so we will see what the morning brings.

Lovely photos Eric.

Once word gets around that your 'restaurant' has been restocked they'll flood in.

Thanks Laurie, the news reached this Magpie. First it landed on the greenery at the end of the deck.

Then it started eying the fat balls hanging above it
Posted Image

Then it managed to hang on awkwardly flapping it's wings to try to keep balanced
Posted Image

And even more flapping
Posted Image

Then after all that effort it needed to rest on the bird feeder support above

Thanks Dave, Those fat balls disappear very quickly, I see to replenish them at least daily.

Today there was a juvenile Robin. It sat on top of the feeder for ages trying to summon up courage to get to the fat balls. It got there in the end but it only managed to cling on for a second or two flapping frantically as it did so.

Lovely photos Eric and what a fantastic range of birds you have visiting your garden. :cool2:

Looks like the juvenile Robin eventually worked out what to do!

The birds in my garden never touch the peanuts so I no longer buy them - good to see that yours are in demand

Thanks Grayling. Our peanuts go quite quickly but it is the fat balls that are the favourite. The seeds go down in the container but quite slowly.

I rather liked the flurry of blue tit's wings.
