Great photos, Eric.

My book says of the Bullfinch "nests in bush or tree, often on sheltered branch".

Thanks everybody.

Ann, thanks for nesting information, perhaps that ivy up the tree will be somewhere that will appeal to the Bullfinches. They often seem to be around there.

Jane, I was pleased with that action shots, it is all a bit of the luck of the draw, The delay on the camera is enough to find a sitting bird is taking off in the photo.

Lovely photos Eric.

Good sheltered spots and food nearby might be enough to tempt the Bullfinches to take up residence Eric.

If you are close to any mixed woodland as well Eric, and you have plenty of available food, this will definitely increase the chances of Bullfinch nesting close by, or even in your garden.

Thanks Dave, there is plenty of woodland near us, mainly beech and oak.

One wonderful photo opportunity missed just now, two Jays and two Collared Doves in a little group on the lawn pecking up the seeds dropped from the seed feeder. Unfortunately they spotted the camera lens peering from behind the curtain and flew off.

Another entertaining scene was our resident Robin having a right barny with another Robin who had dared to approach our feeders.

A little flurry of wings here

Wonderful photos Eric.

Because I haven't been out much this winter I haven't seen any Bullfinches so far this year, you're so lucky to have them in your garden, the same with jays, I haven't seen any of those for a long time either, so lucky you having two!! in your garden. :jealous: :yep: :)

Thanks Marg and Jan. My friend Richard who lives round the corner has even more visitors because they are even closer to the woods. His bird table is identical to ours because I built two at the same time, one for us and one for a present for Richard.

Thanks Dave, there has been a Jay, GSWoodpecker and a squirrel at the nuts this morning to say nothing of an assortment of tits, no wonder they go down so fast.

Thanks Jen and Julie. I am pleased that they come to me because, as you know, getting out and about other than little car rides is not on these days.
