There have been the usual assortment of Tits on feeders today then this Jay appeared.

The squirrel suddenly appeared and the Jay flew off leaving the squirrel to take over (mental note, order more peanuts :o))

Oh beautiful Eric! That Jay is magnificent!

May I ask, are you taking shots manually or do you have a camera set up close by or on a tripod with a trigger? Great captures!

I'd love to have Jays in my garden, but sadly I've never seen one. It is some small consolation that my mum-in-laws garden has them in abundance!

Thanks Jane and Tabatha.

Gary, I have my Canon 60D with a telephoto lens permanently fixed on lying at the ready on my upstairs desk. If anything interesting appears I just hand hold it and shoot through the glass. I have it set with a high ISO so that I can get a faster exposure which makes it easier to hand hold. It makes the photo grainier (noisier in digital terms) but it does not matter for uploading them here. I also use a centre spot for focussing which is more precise for birds.
