Peacocks are not exactly wildlife but they are so often seen in our parks and gardens that I thought they deserved a little section on their own.

:cool4: They are extraordinary birds , Eric ... that design and colour on their feathers is quite amazing . Their walk so slow and graceful .... i've never seen the chicks before your photo , they've a long way to go till the feathers mirror their parents :nod:

Stunning photos Eric :aww: I don't think I've ever seen a Peacock chick before :greatpics:

Someone near us must have one as a pet as every so often at night we can hear it calling :shrug: the first time Dave came in and told me he heard one from the garden I thought he was going mad :run2: :Ha:

We had a holiday in Madeira in 1988 and this has reminded me that when we went to the botanical gardens in Funchal we saw white peacocks. After a lot of searching I found this picture.

I used to see a lot of the coloured ones at Arlington Court , Devon .... there were several places who kept them :cool:
