Eric... I spent a week in the Amazon Basin in Ecuador and another week in the Andes. I never actually went to the Amazon proper as the Amazon doesn't flow in Ecuador but the feeder rivers in the Amazon Basin are still huge. The place I stayed at was called Sani Lodge which is on the Rio Napo river which is probably a mile wide in places... maybe more. To get there involved a nearly four hour journey by boat of about 125 miles down the Rio Napo. http://sanilodge.com/

This was my little home for the week... :lol2:

Thank you for the explanation, John. It looks as though it would be an unforgettable experience. What a charming little hut to live in too.

Wonderful sunset, John.

I wouldn't mind living in that hut for a week!
