Our Horse Chestnuts are about the same as in Daves photo. I think it's the autumn effect this year, not that pesky cattepillar that ruined them last year.

I've just set up the moth trap and I've had to put it in the doorway of the greenhouse as it's raining Acorns! It may be the wind that's helping them, but they're not up to full size yet. I don't know if it's lack of water or autumn that's causing it but my shed and greenhouse are under a large Oak tree and I really ought to be wearing a hard hat when I'm down there!

I've been watching the wasps at the apples that have dropped. I have eaten some but its a bumper crop...

Good capture of the wasp on the apple Jan...they will be going dizzy on the nectar!

I noticed quite a few Horse chestnuts similar Keith and there was no sign of any damage caused be leaf miner moths that so devastated the population last year.

Yes, lovely colour patterns there, Shaz. I was so sick of battling the gale-force winds today I cheated and took some nice coloured leaves inside to shoot!!
